Suncoast Mental Health Counselors Association -  Suncoast Chapter (SMHCA) Announces New Meeting Location

After a year of altering the meeting locations and schedule due to the changing circumstances of our hosts, SMHCA now has a new “stable” meeting location, date and time.

Beginning April 19, the SMHCA Chapter will meet at Troy University’s Tampa Bay campus (Suite 110 within the Bridge Port Center at 5201 West Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, FL  33609) across from the Westshore Mall. In addition, SMHCA will be returning to their traditional date and time: the third Friday of the month from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. The location is convenient to our Pinellas and Hillsborough County members. Pinellas members note that the Troy campus is off the first exit of I-275 after crossing the Howard Franklin Bridge which avoids the downtown traffic. Hillsborough County members note that the Troy campus is located at the intersection where Kennedy Blvd ends and Memorial Hwy begins.

The remaining SMHCA 2010 Winter/Spring Training Schedule includes:

•  April 16, 2010 - Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Lisa Barden, LMHC, LMFT
•  May 21, 2010 - Medical Errors (2 CEU) & Update on Mental Health Parity (1 CEU) Greg Hietpas, LMHC
•  June 18, 2010 - Secondary Trauma. David Swindall, M.Div., LMFT

Three 491 Board CEU's are provided for LCSWs, LMFTs & LMHCs by Professional Counseling Resources (#BAP 348).

FEES: Prepaid: Clinical Members-$10; Student Members-NO charge; Non-Members-$25

            At the Door: Clinical Members-$15   Student Members-$5   Non-Members-$30

Payment must be received by Suncoast Mental Health Counselors Association one week prior to scheduled training date or a $5.00 fee will be added.
